Port Leucate, a whole history!

Port Leucate is a seaside resort which was created in the 1960s, more precisely in 1968.
The resort was created within the framework of the Mission Racine which aimed to develop tourism on the Languedoc coast.

This state mission, led by Sir Charles de Gaulle and his Prime Minister Georges Pompidou, had nearly 200km of fine sand laid out on the Mediterranean coast.

For this mission, Pierre Racine worked with several architects, including Georges Candilis, who designed the architecture of the Carrats de Port Leucate, notably inspired by Greece.

The quays of Port Leucate offer you all the entertainment for your holidays. Between the tours, the games set up and the entertainment offered by the town, you will never be bored! Stroll along the shops set up during the day or take advantage of the night markets to bring back a souvenir of your holiday.
 
How about an ice cream or churros in front of the boats? Admire the sailboats, yachts and catamarans parked along the wharves to the sound of Port Leucate’s nightlife.

Your evening will probably end at the Casino or Parc d’attraction to admire the fireworks in front of the sea!

Boaters, look no further, the Port of Leucate is for you! With 1400 moorings on a sandy lagoon between the sea and the pond, this is one of the largest marinas in Europe in the Mediterranean ! You will also find all the services you need. Do not hesitate to contact the Harbour Master’s Office !
