La Franqui

Considered as one of the best spots in Europe, the Coussoules beach offers optimal conditions for windsurfing, sand yachting (CVCL – Cercle de Voile du Cap Leucate) and kitesurfing.

It is a unique pure ride spot!

Directly on the beach, the KSL (Association Kite Surf Leucate) provides security, guarding and transport of equipment to the spot and CVCL Beach Park rent all you need for windsurfing, paddle, canoë…

Spot La Franqui

It is THE spot of the Mondial du Vent every year in Spring and in Summer, a well known spot for all the riders! The famous wind, the Tramontane, blows in perfectly and smoothes the water for lovers of long “full speed” runs and freestylers. On sea wind days, it’s time for the waveriders!

The windsurfing area is off the 300m (exit channel) and on windless days it is Stand Up Paddle in a magnificent natural setting with a view of the cliffs and the Coussoules.

Le Goulet is the first spot where the Tramontane blows, with a pond “texture” offering optimal conditions for riders of all levels. Wide open spaces for freeriders, choppy and flat water for freestylers, who can jump on the kicker, not forgetting the slalom riders who can make the fin smoke.

THE wild spot of Leucate for windsurfers: by Tramontane or East wind, navigation in totally safe in front of the Canigou! You’ll meet here all the first windsurfers of Leucate, but also beginners!

The spot is in the middle of nature, accessible to light vehicles and camping-cars of less than 8m during the day (parking prohibited at night)

On the sea, kitesurfing, windsurfing and Stand Up Paddle spots. The Mouret, a sandy beach between Leucate Plage and the oyster centre, offers a site apart. We like the conviviality of the place with its beach clubs to eat directly on the beach before or after the session.

La Corrège

Between Leucate Village and Port Leucate, the Etang de Leucate offers a secure “family” windsurf spot. Nicolas Akgazciyan, Leucate freestyle champion, likes this spot for all tastes: slalom, jump, speed, freestyle…

Access: from the CD 627 near the oyster farmers’ bridge, follow the sign Spot de la Corrège. Kitesurfing is forbidden for safety reasons.

Spot Aqualand

Port Leucate

The large white sandy beach in front of Aqualand is ideal with south-east and south winds, as the sea lifts the waves. Kitesurfers and windsurfers are regularly meeting here. The nearby Casino and the beach clubs make it an ideal spot for the family.
