Maison de l'Etang

As part of the actions to welcome the general public of the LIFE+LAG'Nature project, the Syndicat RIVAGE was able to set up a Maison de l'Etang in the oyster farming center of Leucate : this space presents visitors with the history of our ponds, sensitive and heritage natural spaces in which human histories, ancient and recent fishing techniques, and exceptional landscapes intersect.


The purpose of this site is to highlight and promote the natural heritage of the Leucate - Salses pond , its surroundings as well as activities related to this environment (fishing, aquaculture, etc.).


The objective is to make the general public aware of the wealth of heritage and the threats hanging over the pond as well as its peripheral wetlands and to encourage users to behave respectfully of lagoon and peri-lagoon ecosystems, while promoting conservation activities. local production.
