The long natural beach of Les Coussoules is THE site for sand yachting in the South of France! Rare in the Mediterranean, sand yachting is practiced most of the year in La Franqui (when the beach is not flooded).

The wind Tramontane blows more than 300 days a year here! Let it rush into your sail, the wheels of the yacht are running on the sand hardened by the sea… A feeling of freedom invades you and in line of sight the cliff of Leucate and the Witch Cape.

The Cercle de Voile du Cap Leucate, the sand yacht centre on the Coussoules beach, offers rentals, courses and advice on the spot they know by heart!

CVCL (Cercle de Voile du Cap Leucate)

Once on the spot, you can park your car on the free car park along the beach, next to the Domaine Presqu’île La Franqui campsite. Just a few more steps in the sand and here you are!

The CVCL offers sand yachting courses and lessons for children and adults, for beginners and advanced, as well as yacht rentals (single and double seater) directly on the spot.

You won’t find a better way to enjoy the sensations, in complete safety, in the heart of the Narbonnaise Regional Natural Park! 3 times faster than the wind!

From 7 to 77 years old, sand yachting becomes really accessible to all thanks to the tandem! With an instructor, you sit down and he is the pilot! Sensations without the tension!

The full range of sensations for disabled

The Cercle de voile has been awarded with the national label Tourism and Disability and therefore offers people with disabilities the opportunity to glide at full speed across the sand in a sand yacht (equipment adapted for disabled people, accompanied or alone).
