Every year on Ascension weekend, Leucate Village transforms itself into an open-air theater, with the streets alive with brass bands, magic, orchestras, bodegas, music, theater, folklore and children’s entertainment!

Enjoy two exceptional days of festivities in the heart of Leucate Village. Music and theater companies from all over the world have been coming together for this extraordinary festival for over 20 years. The festivities begin at 6pm, with street parades and concerts to delight young and old alike. As the day draws to a close, it’s time for a night of entertainment, each more grandiose than the last. One event follows another, and no two are alike! Come and enjoy unforgettable experiences with family and friends.

Every evening, an extraordinary show passes through Leucate Village. For the 2025 edition, CCPPP and Cie Off will be on the program!
Ahab and the legendary cetacean
CPPP (Compagnie de Productions Polymorphes et Populaires)Achab et le cétacé légendaire, histoire d’une épopée humaine Drifting from town to town, the free adaptation of the story of Moby Dick, a true marine odyssey, arrives in Leucate on Friday, May 30 at 9:30pm! Experience the adventures of Captain Ahab in pursuit of the legendary cetacean! As the end of his journey approaches, the beast awakens… The story’s various adventures are staged to the rhythm of live music, narrated by the circus artists’ prowess and the dancers’ performances. The encounter with the legendary creature and its pursuit make the city streets the pages of this spectacular novel.

OURS - Drifting ice floes
Cie OffOURS / Banquise à la dérive is a transhumance, an anachronistic wandering, an improbable attempt to project ourselves from one pole to the other. Like a glacial fresco of an overheated world, the fantastic caravan takes us on the imaginary journey of an endangered polar bear. An operatic and choreographic show, monumental and poetic, a parade of elegance that draws the audience into a frosty, glittering whirlwind under the stars. Don’t be afraid of the cold! Come and break the ice and let us take you to the other side of the mirror!

The Soeurs Goudron choir, directed by Hélène Morisse, is getting back together 10 years later and organizing a charity lotto-show. Indeed, the terrible private investor “Sauciflex ” has decided to buy back the Centre de Réadaptation Sociale which saw them grow up! A vintage flea market, “ movie faces” and a singer with a devastating wit… La Camelote unpack their stall of tunes from yesteryear and offer you anecdotes and dusted off French songs.

On foot, bike, truck or boat, the Cartaroolotte spreads joy wherever it goes. Hybrid as laughter, the contraption morphs into Cartalol to flatter zygomats and/or Cartalove to offer a full tank of endorphins, its latest creation blooming with love hopes of all kinds. Meeting V🌼 and his wacky contraption is a magical experience, an enchanted interlude full of humor, love and humanity in just a few minutes.

The Groupe Folklorique de Bolivie was founded in La Paz in 2001 with the aim of spreading the music, traditional dances and costumes typical of the Bolivian Andes plateau, an area characterized by a rich cultural, artistic and linguistic tradition.

For the past 15 years, they have been donning their Charros costumes and touring the beautiful villagesof France. They offer a rich and varied repertoire, featuring the most emblematic songs of Mexican folklore, as well as timeless and contemporary Latino hits, to thrill the hearts of all audiences!

A group from the Aube region of France who appreciate music for the good humor it conveys, and offer musical compositions with a wide range of influences: fromafrobeat to bossa, via jazz and funk ! Follow them to the rhythm of their cheerful notes!

Chansons passe-partoutLala’itou is a show of songs that can be performed with you, just about anywhere! Three voices to set the scene and get your vocal chords moving. A guitar and an accordion to waltz through the repertoire and the pavement. A prompter on wheels, so you don’t lose anyone along the way, and you can sing along at the top of your lungs!

A ball that’s a little out of the ordinarywill sweep you away in a breeze of sweet madness! Everyone finds their place, their dance, a little happiness, smiles, and much more if you like…. An atypical guinguette scenography, a warm and friendlyatmosphere… Mr Larsene ‘s Baluche des Complicesreenchants the popular ball and gives us an unbridled version, with writing and staging focused on sharing, audience interaction and burlesque.

A little trade from yesteryear… or a trade yet to be invented! An essential drop of infinite gentlenessLes Balladines is all about slowness in the face of the frenetic pace of our lives; gentleness, calm, silence. And the audience goes into raptures: “Oh, they’re so soft, it feels so good! “

Les Pétassous (from repétasser: to patch up) present themselves in a farandole of multicolored, eco-responsible costumes, made from pieces of recycled fabric & joyfully assembled. They invite themselves to every street corner to play a tasty brand of local folk music, where songs from here and elsewhere merge with an original instrumentarium of energizing melodies and rhythms… Join in the dance!

Les PourKoaPas offer an original, percussive street show, with musical instruments created entirely from recycled materials and the waste from our garbage garbage cans. Les Pourkoapas’ sound and musical research allows you to discover their world of recycling!

Three peddlers, straight out of another era, and their dream machine, give us their secrets of yesteryear: the Eymont-Laritaz family has carefully preserved its know-how for eight generations. Our three companions criss-cross the streets to collect dreams and give them new life, form and impetus. “Do you have lost dreams, dreams you think are impossible? We collect them, recut them, and turn them into bits of the possible. This machine puts them back into motion, back into the cycle of life.”

Whether aboard a city Locomobile or an adventurous one, let yourself be carried away in a completely improvised show where anything can happen! The three Trimardeurs bounce back with panache to any suggestion from the audience! Meet them aboard the little Mirabelle or the big Exploratrice 1902!

Peña Les Platt Band is above all a story of friendship, sharing and love of music.
Its trumpets, saxophones, trombones, basses and percussion will have you singing and dancing to a wide variety of rhythms!

Need a hostess for your festival? Rosemonde is there, setting up her Stand and becoming your Information Point. Rosemonde proclaims information on the program, and gives her voice to: directing crowds, placing classified ads, finding a lost object or picking up abandoned children. She even acts as a claims office, or simply welcomes you to talk knitting or philosophy… In short, it’s clownish public service. A happy place to live!

She likes to dance Caribbean-style and get drunk on Éthio-Jazz. Big Joanna likes to play with space, bodies and voices, as if to ward off bad luck. But what she loves most of all is to feel the audience give in to the bewitchment of dance, the intoxication of bodies…

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the group will be at Sol y Fiesta! Discover this Bayonne-based group, created in 2005 and led by drum major Jean Jo Parrilla, is made up of 40 drums and barrels, accompanied by txistularis (musicians playing the txistu, a Basque wind instrument with three holes). txistularis (musicians playing the txistu, a Basque wind instrument with 3 holes) with their “cocineros” (cooks) for the drums and “aguadoras” (water carriers) for the barrels!

Olé! When music becomes a feast of flavors!Tapas Fanfare invites you on a musical journey full of color and rhythm! Just like those little Spanish morsels that delight the taste buds, each piece in their repertoire is a surprise, an eclectic mixeclectic mix of jazz, funk, variety, chanson, biguine, mambo and many other styles. Let the instruments take you on a merry dance and celebrate with Tapas Fanfare!

Every year, discover a Mediterranean tradition – a popular festival that goes back over 200 years – that will amaze you! Every summer, from August 15 to 21, Barcelona’s Gràcia district celebrates the Festa Major, a unique festival that dates back to 1817. Residents transform their streets into ephemeral works of art using recycled materials, around themes chosen collectively. This free,participatory and intergenerational event reflects Gràcia’s community spirit and attracts some 2.5 million visitors every year. It is recognized as a strong symbol of Catalan culture.

Parking
For organizational reasons, traffic in the village is closedduring this period. Free parking is available at the entrance to the village, at La Franqui and at Leucate Plage.
Ma Navette
To make the most of the event, the commune is setting up Ma Navette. It will run for the duration ofSol Y Fiesta.
